The province of Alberta, Canada is an adventure traveler’s paradise. With beautiful parks like Banff and Jasper, Indigenous cultural experiences on Treaty 6 and Treaty 7 land, expansive badlands, and broad boreal forest, you could spend a decade here and never run out of things to do. I’m on year 15 of calling Alberta home, and the list of places I want to explore here is only getting longer.
There is definitely a redneck vibe in Alberta. The main economy is still based around oil and governments are typically quite conservative by Canadian standards. If you can handle the mullets, trucks, and cheap beer, and want never ending hiking and camping opportunities, this is the place to be.
